Tied to the Past

Letting go is like
dieing slow
and I just don't know
where this road
will take me.
The future hangs on,
just out of reach
and I've tried to teach
myself how to cope,
how grab that rope,
and hold on tight.
The past is my comfort zone,
my only home,
where my mind always goes,
to get away from it all,
avoid the fall,
and not have to think
about the sorrow.
About tomorrow.
