Drinking and Driving

She's had a drink
Maybe two or three
She offers to drive you home
You think, "She's not driving me."
You arrive home
Not a care in the world
You never think twice
About the drinking girl
You get a call
Around 3 A.M.
Now you're awake
It's about them
There's been a crash
You rush to the scene
You finally get there
You see what they mean
Ambulences everywhere
Sirens screaming
Police running around
You think you're dreaming
You watch them pull the sheet
Over her head
She's only 18
She can't be dead
You go to identify
Your best friend
This isn't real
It can't be the end
You feel responsible
That she might be alive
If you remembered that friends
Don't let friends drink and drive

Very powerful and true. Very descriptive. It may sound bad but, good poem. |

'It may sound bad' is pertaining to the comment not the poem. |
