PILL POPPING
Depression again has hold of me
My medication intake was nil
But lately I have cried a river
Again I’m on them still
Those tiny white pills make me angry
The ones I have to take
Each month a new prescription
I think for heavens sake
Reliant upon these silly pills
I don’t want this anymore
But for me to be normal
In the end I find it a chore
My mind is missing that essence
That makes you happy inside
When not on medication
I want to go and hide
Many months it’s going to take
For me to be just me
So for now I’m pill popping
To stay insanely free

Its almost brutal the way in which you lay this one down. I found your rhyme in stark contrast to the gritty content, as it flowed without caution. You do well to write out your problems in this way - at least you can let others appreciate in some degree the state of mine you were in at the time you wrote it.
Thanks for sharing it, and welcome to YPDC. |
