There you are, lying here
I bend down and whisper in your ear
"I love you and be strong;
you know right where you belong."
All eyes turning puffy and red,
we waited for you next to your hospital bed
Until you passed on right before our eyes
Listen closely, hear the soft cries
Oh, please God, listen to me
Keep him safe, keep him free
Now many years have gone past
Still thinking of the day I saw you last
Wondering if I'll meet you in a better place
Counting the days when I'll see your face
Goodbye, our love will keep us together
In my heart you will be forever and ever
