I Have Expired

Contributed by deadreckoning1983 on Thursday, 12th August 2004 @ 02:34:09 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I have expired,
Feeling older than I should.
As if The War itself tore into the quick,
Leaving an empty building of myself.
The memories linger in the grass,
And dance in dark halls.
The worst part,
Was losing what I had to give.
Not so much the love,
But the pain.
It's easy to fall in love.
The hardest part is hurting those,
The ones we expect to love.
You knock on the door,
But the house is pitch black.
The last shred of me left with her.

You expressed your heart well here; it is always hard to move on when you love some one.

Ow. Sacrificing so much for someone you love and then losing it all can never be easy. You've described the feeling well here.

this is really touching and makes me sad about my own heart. making the right decision is hard when you love someone with every bit of yourself. we always tend to hold onto things the tightest when we are forced to let them go.

I like this! I love the title and the ending particularly struck me. This one leaves me thinking... and... that's just the way I like it. Well done.

Left sighing,
SNM

Love is evil! But I'm glad that you still have something left to give hun. Otherwise I'd be pretty lonely right about now. :p

Beautiful. Haunting, in its entirety. This:

As if The War itself tore into the quick

Ouch.
