These dark thoughts
They tear me apart every day
I can't look at myself
For fear of seeing the monster
Which writhes just below the surface
I can't look at myself
Because I am fearful
And ashamed of these thoughts
I hide inside myself
And wait for my rescuer,
But no one comes
And weak tears trickle
Down my face every night
Framing my insecurity and lack of confidence
I know I desprately need help
So help me now if your there
Defeated, I begin to dig a grave, my only option
Its darkness, somehow comforting
I pile everything in
My fear, my sense of failure,
My dark thoughts, my tears of worthlessness
I bury it all putting it behind me
Victorious, a smile cracks my saddened features
And I fall into the arms of Christ
Safe, my past buried, because of Him alone

WoW!! This sounds familiar. I wish I could do that, just bury all my self-hate and insecurities. Nice lesson, though. Great job!

Hey, glad to have your poetry back. I was wondering what happened to you. Anyway, this is such a strong piece. It really moved me. I love how this poem unfolds as you read on. Almost like it was written in a story type form. I especially loved the line "I hide inside myself and wait for a rescuer... but no one comes" That really blew me away,
Kisses,
~Soulless~ |
