My Resignation as a Teenager

Contributed by lil_jewel on Thursday, 31st October 2002 @ 02:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I am resigning as a teenager,
Even if I have to give up my pager.
I want the responsibilities of a 6-year-old,
When eating at McDonald’s was like receiving gold.
I want to believe that candy is better than money,
I want to sell lemonade with friends under a tree.
I want to go back to a time when I didn’t know much,
But I didn’t care because I didn’t know any such.
And being happy is the only way you are,
Because the things that make you upset seem so far.
I want to think that the world is fair,
That everyone is good, honest, and care.
I want to believe I can do anything I set my mind to,
And nothing in the world can hold me from what I want to do.
I want my life to be simple again,
I don’t want any of these things that cause depression.
I don’t want this homework, this gossip, or these expenses,
You can have my school ID, my money, all of my senses.
So I am officially resigning from being a teen,
So you can’t find me because I can’t be seen,
If you would like to talk to me now,
You’ll have to play hide-n-seek, I hope you know how.

I have red you words and I like........ you seem to look at the world 45 degrees from the norm, always the best way. Keep up the work and be well take care and remember happyness is like wetting yourself, everyone can see it but only you can feel it's warmth.
