I’ll fly to you

Contributed by mrpeanut64 on Wednesday, 11th August 2004 @ 12:09:21 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Here I sit all alone
Thoughts of you on my mind
Trying to figure what went wrong
How I came into this bind

I’ve always felt control is key
Keeping my emotions in check
Always maintaining an outward calm
No matter inside a wreck

Never a problem attaining this goal
When trouble came my way
Id laugh it off with a wave and a joke
Pretending all was gay

For three long decades this armor held
No one ever got through
This fortress I’d built around my heart
Impregnable ‘til you

Now for the first time in my life
I’m confused and so afraid
Unconfident and unsure of myself
Decisions left unmade

My heart hammers for me to try
My mind for me to wait
And in the middle sits my soul
Wondering its fate

For which I leave for you to judge
My hopes, desires, and dreams
All await your final word
For which I fear it seems

For you’ve no idea the depths I’ve fallen
Nor how my heart does crave
Your touch, your voice, your every move
My mind works to engrave

And so I leave this final thought
No matter the course you pursue
If ever you feel you need someone
Think my name, I’ll fly to you

I'm fast becoming a fan of yours ... yet another poem that expresses my every thought - rather eerie to say the least. An excellent write. Jan
