I stand here as they lower the coffin!
Is that really you inside?
Can't I just be dreaming?
Can I wake up and everything be ok?
I know I'm not going thru denial!
That isn't really you in there.
If it is your just playing right.
Your gonna jump up and scream
April fools and how you got all of us
You'll be at my door tomorrow!
Asking how everyone is.
Seeing if you can borrow the phone,
To make long distance calls.
I'm kneeling down praying that all of this is a dream
that it's a nightmare
that I'll wake up
and it'll be okay.
And for a split second I open my eyes.
Praying that I'm not in the cemetery.
Praying that I'm not at your funeral.
Praying that I'll see you tomorrow.
But I'm here,
and it's you,
and this isn't a dream.
Rest in peace my friend and I love you!
