Family Reunion

Family Reunion
~~~
Over the weekend I attended a family reunion
Our yearly connection to my father relatives
A step back in time to old memories
While a leap forward to creating new ones
After the hugs and kisses
And the occasional “who was what?”
We all sat down to a delightful picnic
And a stroll down memory lane
Many smiles and laughter was shared
As old pictures were passed around
And old relationships were refreshed
And new ones were made
What do you do for a living?
How old are your children?
And isn’t that a new hairstyle?
Your yearly questions get new answers
It’s a look into the future
On how you are going to act and look like
In your golden years to come
A scary reality I must admit
Seen thru your eyes a family reunion is perfect. Makes for great memories, doesn't it?
Wonderful poem.
As usual Jeff, your poems touch me deeply..and I can usually relate to them.... This past few months I have been runited with a lot of my family especially ones from Canada whom I had not seen since I was there in 1984.... And even tho our 'reunion' was under sad circumstances, it was good seeing them all..
Thanks for the memories... Great write....
And Hugs to Christian for me....
Jenni
