Upon Angel Wings

Contributed by TheReturnOfx7 on Monday, 9th August 2004 @ 07:12:33 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I remember how I used to put faith in angel wings
Wrapped my dreams up to be forever lost in tender down
How I once thought those wings to hold a certain cushioning
A bandage to heal a heart doomed to eternally bleed
I recall clearly how those wounds never really healed
Cause I kept picking the freshly formed scabs away
How with each droplet of blood I died a little more
Found myself begging the softness of the feathers
Wanting them to absorb my crimson stained memories
It was upon those angel wings I first spoke of forever
Yet, all I learned was angels say the most painful goobyes

Relate to those words, can I. Well done. Angels do indeed "say the most painful goodbyes" !!! Fantastic.

Ouch... this is a beautiful, pain filled write. Someone who would hurt you that badly was never an angel in the first place. She was only masquerading as one. It's not right, but I think almost everybody does it at some point or another, whether to purposely hurt someone or just out of naivete. Bottom line? You're better off without her. And anyway, imperfection is beautiful. Who would want to be with a perfect creature such as an angel? Where would the fun be?

Yes.... ouch. Angel wings are delicate things... too easily broken when misused by someone.

This is heartbreaking. The wounds might never heal... especially the very deep ones. But maybe, just maybe, they eventually do.

Thinking if you figure out how to make that happen, I should like to know... I'm certain I haven't yet figured it out myself,
