One Hour in Paradise

Contributed by Quiet_Waters on Monday, 9th August 2004 @ 05:21:58 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

Life just got crazy
Or I just got lazy
Burned out with work, boss is a jerk
Time for a break
An Island in nowhere
The scent of the salt air
A chair on the shore, couldn't ask for more
But more I will take.

Calypso band playing
Palm trees are swaying
Kissed by the breeze, breath of the seas
Afternoon light
Toes buried in cool sand
A cold drink in my hand
My paradise, bourbon and ice
This sure feels right.

A girl in a grass skirt
I take off my T shirt
We dance in the sun, God this is fun
Why did I wait?
Then I hear the boss yell
I snap out of my spell
Lunch break is through, hurry up you!
You're gonna be late.

This reminds me of why I retired early. The sad part is I was the boss, lol. This is so typical of the hurry hurry attitude and stress that is killing everybody. Good luck on the island, may your dream come true.

I spend most of my day at the shore... toes in sand... hand in hand with someone wonderful. It may appear that I'm working away in my office, but I assure you - my mind is elsewhere. It's like a movie reel turning in the back of my mind... always.

Oh... I get this! To dream is everything. Only one tiny question... why confine it to lunch time?

Thinking reality is overrated sometimes,
