Lazy Sunday afternoon.

Propped against a willow tree
on a sultry summer day,
soft green cushions beneath me
and all manner of companions
buzzing and bumbling,
my thoughts were lost
in the ripples
of a sparkling brook.
Above me, lazy woodpigeons
and fiery robins did their best
to sing me to sleep.
As my eyes glazed over,
victims of the narcotic
summer spell,
I seemed to see
through frosted glass,
a wonderful kaleidoscope
of dreamlike wonder.
What a way to spend a day!
