So Many Things

There’s so many things I would have done,
Instead of drinking & having some fun,
I would have behaved & stayed in school,
But I just wanted to break the rules.
I didn’t listen in my younger days,
Just liked to go my own way,
I knew best I thought I was mature,
In my mind my future was secure.
But little or nothing did I know,
As when I grew up I was dealt a blow,
My ignorance had gotten me nowhere,
My downfall was acting like I didn’t care.
I never complied or followed anyone’s lead,
Now I wish I had of taken head,
My precious life I wasn’t really living,
I had a heart, but I wasn’t giving.
Things have changed so much,
The real future is now within my touch,
I show my feeling that once I hid,
I apologise if I have one to bid.
I am now half way up the ladder,
With myself I couldn’t be madder,
I should have complied & I’d have learnt,
Instead of playing with fire & getting burnt.

A scarred past? We've all got to have those somewhere. Hoping it's all better for you now. Heh... sometimes all you have is hope these days.
As to the poem again: You've got a way with rhyme. You're so good at it. I love your work.
Lots of love and peace be with you,

But my dear friend Pixie.......you must look to the past.......nor the future.....what happened is water under the bridge, dear, so learn from it, but drag it into your happy day of today....that will only pull you down, so you can't find pleasure in the "right now" will zap you of your strength as you lament, and you can not go back and change it......just let it lay.....Another very fine poem.
Loved it
