Eden's Angel

Contributed by Quiet_Waters on Sunday, 8th August 2004 @ 06:17:09 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

Angel of the realm of Eden
Crown of flowers, feathered wings
In a garden filled with roses
Watchful eyes see many things
Tiny butterflies surround her
One sits in her gentle hand
Mother nature's only child
Has this world at her command.

Bare feet grace the cobblestones
As she walks the maze of paths
Free from every earthly worry
Virgin still to human wraths
Song birds land upon her shoulders
Sing to her their serenade
And she finds the gardens center
Where miracles and dreams are made.

She lays down beside a fountain
Closes eyes in restful sleep
And sees visions in her mind
Of the memories she'll keep
Sunset colors over mountains
Sunrise on the open sea
Angel of the realm of Eden
Please come share your world with me.

This is so very lovely. Quite ethereal in fact. You paint your images well in words. I will be watching for more of your work.

Smiles

What a wonderful first post! This is a beautiful write - I enjoyed it! You have a terrific poetric voice - I am so happy that you've brought it to YPDC so that we may enjoy it as well. This piece has terrific flow... and, as the others have pointed out, very strong imagery. And... I'll confess it... part of me wished I were more like the subject of this poem... It would be lovely, I think, to be free from worry or to have escaped some of the pain along the way as you describe here:

Bare feet grace the cobblestones
As she walks the maze of paths
Free from every earthly worry
Virgin still to human wraths

Impressed and interested (please keep posting!),
SNM
