Walking around the farm
you noticed nine or ten
Little baby chicks at play
not far from mother hen
The cows were close by too
being milked by someone's hand
Many horses by the stables
standing together in a band
They were waiting to be released
to have their daily run
Up and down the mountain
having what they call their fun
Back to mother hen
a rooster on the prey
Was it her turn again
or would it be another day
You walked over by the lake
the ducks were passing by
You could also see some frogs
and pheasants on the fly
The farm was quite large
built many years ago
To get the grain needed
you needed more than just one hoe
To feed all the animals there
it really is a big job
More than just the family
you need quite a mob
Visiting this vast farm
and seeing what is there
Showed you how difficult it is
but how very much they care

Hi Bruce,
My farm or fthers farm wasn't that big but we had cows, a horse, chickens, ducks, rooasters blue eggs, My Dad and Mom lived off the land for food, raised our own meat, eggs all that. Looking back it was the thing to do and even more healthy. We didn't have mioney but we had a ome, plenty food to eat and each other. to me seeing this type of life disappear it's very sad.
Awesome write-n-thanks for stoking the memories.
this write is definently amasterpeice of history.
huggs, luv, smiles,
emy |

hi bruce,
i really like this poem. it sounds like something you would read to a child. my grandfather has a farm and he is disabled so i always help him, in fact i cleaned the chicken pin today. man, that is hard work. well, excellent poem.
love forever,
