Make Eye Contact With Me
August 7, 2004

If I could only read what you're thinking,
Get to know what's going on inside your mind,
I wouldn't always be wondering,
And searching for something I'll never find.
So maybe if you looked at me,
When you said what I want to hear,
I could see in your eyes,
My feelings being mirrored.
Could you make,
Eye contact,
With me?
Let me see what it means,
I need to know, don't let this go,
Just tell me, show me, let me read...

What's going on in your mind,
What are you thinking, feeling, wanting from me?
I know I can give you the piece you need,
But I don't know, can't know,
Until you...
Let me know, show me what you mean,
I can never tell baby, I can never see.
So,
Tell me, make a move, give me a sign,
Anything to keep my heart from beating to break,
Apart for you, for me, baby...

What are you thinking,
What are you feeling?
Say to me what I want to hear,
Show me something, anything, to keep you near.
I don't wanna go, no, I don't wanna leave,
But baby, baby...
You have left me with no other choice,
I feel I can't go on until I see...

What to you I mean, so
Let me know, end my sorrow,
My grief for the thought of us slipping away.
Makes me wanna cry, makes me wanna say,
Make eye contact with me,
And save me from this dreadful, sorry day.
Baby what do I have to do,
To make you understand?
I can never leave, I can never see,
I don't wanna be, without you...
So all that's left for me to find,
Is what is going on inside your mind?
I don't wanna go, no, I don't wanna leave,
But baby, baby...
You have left me with no other choice,
I know I can't go on until I see...

i really like this poem. i think it would make a really good slow song. please read some of my poetry.
