Dead Is John The Baptist, But Alive Is My Soul

Contributed by abnormalpunk on Saturday, 7th August 2004 @ 02:52:27 PM in AEST
Topic: CongratulatoryPoems

endless criticism
from all you hypocrytical people
the hidden hates
coming from beneath your steeple

judgmental thoughts
strengthen your righteousness
when i walk by
you ask yourself "where do i hide from this?"

stares, points, and whispers
is all i get from you "holy saints"
discrimination
is what your opinions always paint

avoidance and hate
when i pass by you, is what i feel
hate and desposition
you have created and made real

"shun your eyes from evil"
you say to your children when i am near
individuality
is what your stereotypes fear

judgment and opinion
you've embedded in your heart
but its people like you
that originally tore me apart

congradulations... you have made me a monster... a creature... an individual... thank you

Nice poem full of anger and decisiveness even though I am going through similar circumstances I have decided to take the road of forgiveness and pursue a happy ending in spite of my hurt

Very emotional write first off. I enjoyed the strength. Now, not to get too off handed with you, but as a Christian allow me to retort to this topic.

Christians, as all people are imperfect. Sometimes a Christian can get carried away with themselves and lose sight of the fact that NONE OF US DESERVE SALVATION! That means me, this means you as well. We are human and yes in some ways good people on a human level, but we are so far away from the glory of our Lord that we are indeed evil.

Now, I know people hate hearing that they are evil, but here is the thing. If we have ever commited evil, then we are evil. The same as if we commit good we are good. If we commit both we are yin and yang. Mostly we all commit both. But the thing is even in a human fleshly world, we are usually ignored of our good deeds, and never get even for the wrong we do. This is where Jesus comes in to play. He died so that to our Lord we will be forgotten of the evil, and blessed for the good. While Christians may cast discomfort to you, Christ forgives.

Don't confuse Christians for Christ. They are not Christ, and ultimately their time of judgment awaits as well. Christ does not live through a Christian just because they claim he does. So in other words don't let where you spend eternity base itself on the thoughts and actions of jerks.

Your name is adnormalpunk. I have been a punk rock fan for a very long time, and even lived the lifestyle once. So I think I can relate to you on this one thing, dealing with a punk's philosophy. A true punk rocker does not turn away when the suits and ties tell them to leave. They enter the room, drink the punch, make love to the waitress, and buy the tee shirt. Because nothing gets under one's skin then to see someone inside a place that they do not want them in. Point is, live your life find Christ let him lead you, and walk up into heaven smiling as the jerks who made it whisper "What's he doing here". Because if you let them send you to hell they win anyway.

Good luck, excellent job on the poem. Keep writing, and God Bless you!

i thought this poem was very well written and it gets straight ot the point... it wasnt about not being a christian and being lost and christians turning you into "bad monsters" ... this is what the poem was about ..thats what i got from it atleast
like when your in church they judge you
for what u look like and not who u are they look at how u dress and ur hair and such and because of that u want to be differnt and not follow the crowd so infact of them judging you they actually made u into who u are an individual.. someone who they think "is outside of the bun".. as taco bell would put it.... and the hole abnormal punk thing fits to that poem the word punk means to rebel to go against the grain.... so he did that when they wanted to regect him for who he was he kept that look so he could be himself and to creat the statement a christian can dress in black or spike there hair and get a mohawk and can still be just as good of a christian as someone who wears a suit and a tie.... i say keep on writting more poems like this they are all awsome... good job

Very interesting write. I know some people exactly like you speak of, but don't forget that not all "christians"...will point and whisper at you. For example, Jesus did not hang out with the so called "perfect" people (which no one is but Christ himself) but Jesus spent most of his time with the drunks, prostitutes, all kinds of people that didn't do what was considered right in those days. Today we as christians are supposed to follow Jesus's steps and not ignore and judge people that choose those things, but we are supposed to love and appreciate them. We are all sinners in God's eyes..everything we do will be judged. NO ONE is better than another. When someone murders and another person lies neither act is worst than the other all sin is the same in God's eyes. So please do not think that all christians are out to judge and hate you..that is the exact opposite of what we want. May God bless you.
