Why Must Love Hurt So?

Contributed by WorthlesSanity666 on Friday, 6th August 2004 @ 08:23:38 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Cheerful flirting.
What harm could it do?
You grow so close and attached,
but what happens when he leaves?
What happens to the smiles
when your pet firefly
flies away,
taking away
the light of the world with it?
Loving kindness
and wistful dreaming.
How could it
turn into a
bloody massacre?
When you let your
hopes get high and
fantasies pleasant,
but then wake up to
harsh reality.
The reality that you're all alone,
realizing you've done it again.
You've permitted feelings,
you've grown attached.
You will never change.
You'll always end up
taking chances
you knew you shouldn't have taken.
You'll always end up sad,
lying on the floor,
crying how your heart is shattered,
though there are no ears
to hear you scream.
