My heart is crafted in cut glass,
It may be light yet carries a great mass,
Within my heart lies years of torment,
& things in which I daily repent.
This heart of mine is a precious gift,
It will feel the pain of a lover’s rift,
So please handle it with care,
Look after it, I don’t have a spare.
It is just like a beautiful vase,
Yet bears so many emotional scars,
If dropped in pieces it so shatters,
Left in shards & left in tatters.
Think of it as a china plate,
Moulded into a delicate state,
It needs love, attention & ultimate care,
Let it know you’ll always be there.
In your hands lays my glass heart,
Show it devotion right from the start,
My love now belongs to you,
Be gentle & kind in all that you do.
