Heartstrings

Contributed by deadreckoning1983 on Thursday, 5th August 2004 @ 12:20:40 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

This misery pulls at my heartstrings,
And the meloncholy chords
Reverberate on my lips,
Filling my lungs with sadness.
I can't keep you out of my life,
The scars I carry
Suffocate the love I had for you.
Everyday I wish you were here,
But it never comes,
Like the tears I will never cry.
I try to leave you behind
While the sun sets on my back,
And the cold wind kisses my lips.
The night folds in as I pick up the phone,
This will be the last time I call.
To let you know I'm not alright,
And the emptiness you left behind,
Faded away into the morning;
Promise not to call,
And I promise I won't write

i lost a relationship with both my divorced parents and have recently gotten them back. but there is still an absence in my home and my heart. i cannot fathom how much pain you're in but you are more than welcome to write to me and vent.

:( I came so close to crying when I read this...As you know, my mom isn't in my life either, and it really hit home. I'm so sorry...*sighs* I wish I had a magic wand I could wave and make everything that's bad all better again...=
