Desert's Kind (Desert is Kind)

Contributed by Sagacious on Thursday, 5th August 2004 @ 10:56:09 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

The Desert knows its own--
would offer (to one who is not
unlike itself) some semblance
of rest:

Desert would yield some
desultory rites of this martyr's
passage; would, but that its
Empty

Quarter's emptiness should
not be taken (in itself), as
is its wont, by one who is
like it.

Desert likes company
in its solitude, and one who
is like desert, likes solitude,
in kind.

This one who comes here is
called loner: and he who comes
to know this desert, would know
his own.

Yes- I liked this as well, for we are alone together in our solitude, basking in the silence that we call home.

Nice job.

(takes a deep breath...) Wow... My friend, this is.... incredible. Deep. Perfect....such is all of your poetry... The way you described this endless solitude, with the man named Loner...
'Desert likes company
in its solitude, and one who
is like desert, likes solitude,
in kind.

This one who comes here is
called loner: and he who comes
to know this desert, would know
his own.'

That is my all time favorite part of this masterpiece... Beautiful, surreal, and i can relate to this very much... Your poetry is amazing, Sagacious, and i will never get tired of reading them... ::smiles:: I speak the truth when I say this, my friend.. Do not fret on my words being feign... That is how your poetry makes me feel, and that is the sheer truth... I loved this poem very much, and i am sorry i couldn't keep my promise in being the first to comment, but i am the second... All my love and respect to you, dearest friend... And hope to communicate with you soon... Je t'aime, mon ami! till next time...

-Fleur

We all converge in the same desert without knowing it, yet it's our own private place at the same time...I love the gentle, ethestic tone of this poem. Well done, it's amazing.

You delicately select your words from thousands.
you dance with them.
you are very deliberate.
contemplation, you ...
paradox ..fie!
you goal, PARADOX!
