Wish I Was Your Everything

Topic: LostLove

Oh my beautiful one
I wish
I wish I was that girl
Who could lift all your pain away
I wish
I wish I was perfect
Every flaw diminished away
I wish
I wish I could be there
During your times of sorrow
I wish
I wish you could see
I love you like there's no tommorow
I wish
I wish I could be the perfect girl for you
I wish
I wish and pray
That I love you the way Im supposed to

This is quite beautiful. I like the dream behind it.
And... what a hard thing love can be to understand. I think the line,
I wish and pray
That I love you the way Im supposed to

is a courageous and truehearted desire. Love is, well, it isn't the feeling. It's not emotion. So often someone thinks they hold real love for another, when in reality, unknown to themselves, most of what they love is really the way the other person makes them feel. They do it to get something out of it, and thus love for selfish reasons. That is not True Love. I believe True Love is a state of mind as well as heart. It is quite simply one's whole focus turned to the other, desiring to do for them, for their own good, and forgetting oneself completely in the process. It is selflessness.

Well, sorry for the rambling, but I was in that sort of mood. Take care.
Andrew
