We are riding the stellar
wave spinning, swirling,
twirling, spiraling
around the
vortex
of a galactic maelstrom
on a powder blue
mote of dust
orbiting
a star.
And as we sit on a patch of brown
between the blue, we watch
the sunset, evening arrives
and pulls away the curtain
of light, revealing
a universe
of stars.
A full moon flickers, pales,
wanes, a color change
of yellow, to orange,
to red.
A fulmination, an exploding plume
of sparkles, gently floating
down, like snow
with glowing trails,
comet‘s
tails,
a glaring incandescence, cool
to the touch, melting into the ground,
into the grass, growing higher,
reaching up, fingers
dragging us down
to the soil.
The oceans swell up, swallow
the debris, then retreats
after the land is
cleansed and
nature begins
again.
