My Driving Test

Contributed by pixie on Wednesday, 4th August 2004 @ 06:55:01 AM in AEST
Topic: Event

Today is the day of my driving test,
I am feeling quite nervy & stressed,
Didn’t really sleep well last night,
Tossing & turning hugging my pillow tight.

Thoughts of failing going round my head,
As I lay there feeling edgy in my bed,
Wishing that tomorrow was far away,
& Not when I woke up the very next day.

I’m trying to take a few deep breaths,
As I wobbly walk up the next step,
An hour & half left to go,
I wish the day would at least go slow.

Instead it is racing along,
My heart is playing a thumping song,
Fear & anxiety have taken over me,
Me crashing & burning is all I see.

I hope that after the examiner cracks his whip,
That the test is over rather quick,
I have never been a nervous sort if person,
I just don’t want this feeling to worsen.

My head’s in a thousand bits,
My pulse is having a hissy fit,
I really want to pass my driving test,
But all I can do is my very best.
