In the quiet of the morning,
or at noon when hell breaks loose;
or when silent evenings offer
little more than an excuse;
or at night, when sleep directs my mind
to dreams to be remembered;
‘tis then the spirit claims there’s no escape:
the heart is there to be surrendered.

excellent. it is so beautifully stated in a few words- often times a hard concept for us poets to grap, how to paint a picture beautifully and descriptively in just a few lines. often times works such as this are very powerful because of its simplicity but attention to detail. |
