My Secret Desire...

Contributed by FleurdeSang on Tuesday, 3rd August 2004 @ 09:41:06 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I dreamt of you again last night,
And it was sweeter than the last…
You evoke this feeling inside me,
That is so maddening,
So strong,
That only weeping can release it…
This desire that shrouds all else…
I quiver when your lips open,
And speak these words that stroke my torn heart…
Glorious music swirls all around us,
Hugging every beautiful curve on our bodies,
And caressing our souls with celestial hands…
This melody that Love plays on a golden violin…
Your touch,
That feather-like caress across my trembling skin…
O how it drives me to the brink of Insanity!
The way your raven hair falls upon your precious face,
Veiling those sparkling pools of amber that seem to look through my soul…
Beauty beyond compare…
A smile to die for…
And yet there is that air of mystery about you,
That makes me want you even more…
I swore to myself that I would never fall in love again…
But I think blind Cupid has struck me once more…

Ah! The lure of the unknown, perhaps unknowable--the feminine mystique in this woman you desire: a desire from time immemorial, replayed through generations, as each entwining love spawns new worlds, in kind. This is the love you've captured: the eternal variety, no less, unassailable through the ages. Inspiring, to the end. Peace Be Thine, -KAC-

HAHAAHAAHAH!! Why does everyone think that this "Unknown person" that I am in love with is a girl?? lolz... Just to inform everyone, I am a girl, and the person that i wrote about is a male... I just wanted to clear that part before people started thinking things, lolz!! alrighty, read on fellow poets...

**SAGACIOUS TRIES AGAIN**

Having discovered my error concerning FleurdeSang's gender in the late evening, I decided to "sleep on it" before deciding on an appropriate response. The initial embarassment is receding, now, and I realize that a wholesale re-evaluation of My Secret Desire... is unnecesary. Yet, as viewed from the new perspective, I appreciate even more such lines as The way your raven hair falls upon your precious face, / Veiling those sparkling pools of amber that seem to look through my soul…

It goes to show that descriptive terms like "raven hair" and "precious face," as well as the lover's "feather-like caress," all of which might otherwise be associated with the feminine, can be applied to even greater effect when stereotypes are turned on their head.

My apologies go out to FleurdeSang, with appreciation for the lesson she has taught me in the wicked art of unwarranted assumption. Still Blushing, -KAC-

Oh Cupid, the infernal meddler...

M'lady,
whom ever these words were written to
dost have your heart, sure and true
T'would oh, but such an honor be
to hear these words from the likes of thee
Give I would, my final breath
to be craved so, before my death
As sure of this as I can be
I would pass most happily

Nazmythian ~
