Don't Know What to Say

“Don’t Know What to Say”

I see you across the hall, but I can’t think of what to say,
Anything from “I love you” to a simple “hey.”
I look into your eyes hoping for a connection,
Meanwhile you not knowing you’re the object of my affection.

All day I dream of you being with me,
At night of dreams only I can see.
You do not know how much I care,
To tell you that, I do not dare.

For when I see you might heart drops,
My insides feel as if they’re doing belly flops.
Your wonderful smile, your beautiful eyes,
And your gorgeous brown hair are all what makes me cry.

Because I know I can’t have you and that’s what hurts,
It feels as if you're ripping out my heart, and throwing it in the dirt.
But still I dream and that brings a smile to my face,
Whether I’m out shopping our back at my place.

If had one wish, I know what it would be,
It would be that you would forever love me.
But I can’t have that wish, and I know it won’t come true,
So I sit awake and think all night, “What am I going to do.”

As each day passes, I’m sure to pray,
I pray that you will always have a happy day.
Because if you’re happy, so am I,
And that will matter most until the day I die.

You mean the world to me, yet you do not know,
I wish I could tell you, I wish I could show.
So in the end, I don’t know what to do,
But to hope you know that I truly love you.

Dude! Kevin. The poem is tight. It expresses youself so well it is as if i know you. Here's my advice... you are obviously a romantic guy right? Of course I'm right. Give her the poem and persue your interests towards her. Does anyone agree with me? I'm sure she is a really sweet lady and would love to get to know you better. Life is too short not to take chances. Here's my motto...I would rather regret doing something than regret not doing something. It has always worked for me. Take a chance and spice up your life. She is too perfect to pass up. If you just say you will wait it out a little, someone else will grab her up trust me. Don't let her slip between your fingers. Go out and get her, she is more than worth it. Plus nobody could turn down a person with the skills to write a poem like this. Bravo on this piece of art!! Listen to me, I am a pretty smart guy.

beautiful poem! Wonderfully expressed! I really liked how you phrased things in the poem with the rhyming.
