Well I’ve lived now thru’ four seasons
and for each one heard a reason
when the reason was no season at all.
And it took a year to reckon
that it does no good to beckon
when to beckon is to reckon a fall.
I was watching flowers blossom
sitting down just playing possum
when a possum took my blossom away.
And the empty space I’m feeling
has now left me believing
when believing keeps the feeling at bay.
It’s a notion that I’m getting
now the room is up for letting
when the letting and the getting’s a treat.
It’s the perfume of the laughter
and the honey that I’m after
when the after makes the laughter so sweet.
