What is Love?

Topic: DarkPoetry

When we kissed
It set off something in my head
This feeling came over me
I felt weak in the knees
For days i layed there sleeping
But not sleeping
Thinking about that kiss
And what it meant
But
What did it mean?
Did it mean we were a couple?
Or that we were becoming closer?
To this day i still do not know
Was it love i felt?
If it was
We would still be together
But sadly we are not
So that couldn't be it
Then what was it
I think i've found out
Its just a spell
It was cast over me
Blinding me from what was real
When the blinders came off
I saw you for what you were
Not a great person as I thought
You wonder why i left
I couldn't take the abuse
The lieing
The cheating
Now that it is done
I'm less of a man
I ran from my problems
I did not confront them
And for that i'm sorry
I will now
Say my final goodbyes
I know you do not care
But its okay
Don't feel sadness for me
You have a child to take care of
I tried to play the role of a father
But you wouldn't have it
Let him know this was not his fault
It was not yours
This is mine
Which is why i must pay the price
Goodbye to you and him
Goodbye for ever

Nice job done on this write, it is also a reality check as many a child has to grow up without a father, but at least you were honest enough, thats something.
Although maybe you should at least still write to your son, but hey who am I, but another reader to be giving you advice, I have no children of my own and never will be able to, so I havent been in your position.

So Take care.

Excellent Poem, It really gets you thinking about fatherless children. Excellent read, I really enjoyed it.
