"FANCY OUTHOUSES, INDEED!!!"
Switzerland, small country--heart of Europe,
Famous Mountain, "MatterHorn" here's a close-up.
About two thirds of the area of Switzerland,
Covered with forests, lakes, mountains, and farmland.
Small country ,now very proud of their fancy outhouses.
I must advise, if you use them, you're taking chances?
Pretty little blonde holds the handle to one.....
It's all glass, reflects buildings, 'tis no vision.
Placed right downtown in the public square.
Beware! It's beautiful glass, when in there, you share.....
Views of everyone in town walking all around!
One-way glass, while you potty.....Spellbound!!!
Viewing the crowd from inside the fancy pot.
Of course, they can't see you, that helps alot?
I'm told they are very expensive to maintain,
Common citizen outrage, most will just refrain!
We here in Wyoming, have had, and still do--have,
Economical, practical, comfortable outhouses for you.
These are really unique, we call them "twin-outies."
One for her, and one for him, cozy little "crappies."
The "moon-sign" denotes a woman, "circle" a man.
You can't see out, unless you're a prop man.
That's for safety purposes mostly, you understand.
Wooden holes can be quite large, no place to stand!
This is a view of the inside of a terrific "two-holer."
This one is real fancy brick, painted pink azure.
Very low cost to maintain, new paint once a year.
A nice storage shed for tools, when winter's severe.
So, Switzerland has nothing on Good Ole Wyoming.
Mountains here are tall also, I'm not bragging.....
As for seeing out while you go, who cares anyway?
Hard working folks, much to do, no time to stare or stay!

"A young man returning from the Korean War, was demonstrating
to his father, how handgrinads worked. He said, "You see this
pin here on the end Pa?" "Well, you just pull that out, and then you
toss it as far away and as quickly as you can throw!"
The explosion was devastating!!!
"Good Lord!" Pa said, "I think your Grandpa was in the outhouse over there!"
They both take off running as fast as they can.....and moving toward them
up over the hill is Grandpa trying to find strength enough to walk. He really
looked bad, his clothes were half hanging.....all black, and looked burned!
The grandson says, "Grandpa are you all right?"
"Grandpa says, "I'm never going to do that again!!!"
His son says, "What, Pa, What?"
Grandpa says, "Break wind, and light a match at the same time!"
"Explosive Smiles!"
"I Thank God everyday those days are gone!!!"

Indeed a blessing for plumbing, but you have captured the "charm" of the outhouse beautifully. Truly an enjoyable read. Thank you. |

Well.......high on a mount, while looking for gem stones.........had a lingering thought......and a bump not in my heart!!!!! Paper I had, but place not so kind.......at 13,000 feet no one ventured to make......that palace of splendor........so quaint and profound....and then the alpine breeze did blow....and my paper blew out of my hand with a start......and no pine cone above timberline!
I loved that poem!!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing. |

LOL! Oh! what a treat! An ode to outhouses... who would have ever expected that!!!! I'm tickled... but, rather disturbed by the glass variety (I don't care if it's one way glass!).
There seems to be some sort of funny bug running rampent... Mick's "Shoes?", Chelsea's "The Bepuzzlement Of Philomena" and "Forlorn for Pickles" spurred me on to last night's "Anita Huggenstuff". I don't know what 'got' you --- but I'm glad it did!!!
Thanks for sharing this -

ROFLMCAO ~ Connie, you are a kick and a half!! I absolutely adore this. Have used outhouses in my youth and still would if necessary, but don't think I could use a glass one even if it is one-way glass.
You are a riot!
Hugs,
Rita |
