White Wings

The immortal battle of souls
the good, the evil, Satan and God
on the plains of existence, the fighting everlasting,
one angel with black wings, the other's pure white.

The heavens are raging
the ground stirs beneath them
the powers are unsheathed
and the chaos bursts forth.

They lash out for the freedom
to change the worlds humanity
one way or another
it's out of our hands.

All across the mortal realm
we look to the heavens
the sky bleeds down upon us
staining our eyes.

The wind whips around them
the fighting continues
until suddenly a spray of feathers
is seen in the air.

The white wings have been severed
no longer pure, but corrupted
the angel has fallen
the darkness engulfs

A pain from within
the darkness unholy
the white wings have been tainted
the darkness engulfs.

I enjoy reading your poems.
