sometimes i feel you should know
what to say to me
on those days when i'm distant
or where to touch me when i'm feeling ugly.
and sometimes i think i could leave you
with no regret
and maybe even laugh about it
with my friends.
sometimes i cry all day because
i hate you
but expect you to hold me
to make me feel better.
sometimes i think you know
how i feel about you
other times i'm sure you have
no clue.
sometimes i feel compassion for you
even though you never have for me.
sometimes i visit a lover i knew
when we were apart
i wonder if you do the same when we're
not understanding each other.
sometimes its not easy to look at you
except those times when i feel i'm no
better than you.

This is pretty deep, both in the descriptions of the complexities and ambiguities in relationships, but also the frailties and needs and contradictions in anyone who feels and thinks beyond a fundamental level. This is really honest and forthright. I've often felt this way in relationships too, but you said it better here than I ever have.

Oh my .. priss, this was compelling. I realize it was over two years ago, but wow!
This is so full of brave and honest admissions. And many that, if more people
searched their souls, would find. I am in total agreement with spike. A perfect
depiction of the complex emotions that surround us when relating intimately with
another soul.
Excellent write, priss. And very well done!
