Wilting Rose

Contributed by pixie on Saturday, 31st July 2004 @ 02:10:04 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I feel just like a wilting rose,
Bringing to you this sad prose,
As I sit alone with my thoughts,
Inside my head the hurt has been caught.

As I sigh as I write these words,
Listening to the chirping of the birds,
I realise that I am truly alone,
I have to reap what I have sewn.

My petals point down south,
I can’t seem to lift the corners of my mouth,
Across my forehead lies a frown,
My heart no longer wears a crown.

As I hang my head so low,
I feel pain more than you can know,
My pollen has all rotted away,
There goes the last of my sunny days.

My soil is as dry as the desert lands,
Where are my two nurturing hands?
They have left me here to rot,
About my needs they have forgot.

Here is some life giving water for you to water your parched soul. I offer my hand to you in friendship to help nurture you back to strength.

A wilting rose you say ?.....I'm sorry that you feel this way.

Your depression really reaches to me through this.

Nice write, and maybe one day you will find the water-bearer to bring you back to life and existence.
