I Wonder

I wonder what it would be like
If I ever did find you.
Would you welcome me?
I know you haven’t a clue!
My mother was pregnant at a young age,
She didn’t know what to do
I’m hoping that the stories I’ve heard
Are somehow going to be untrue.
She’s given me your name
And that is all I know.
All I really want to do
Is stop and say “Hello!”
Did you ever think of me
After you ran that day?
Were you to scared to stay with her?
Or afraid of what others might say?
I forgave you years ago
But I still wonder everyday,
Do you still think of me?
I think as I kneel and pray.
