On a balcony, not too high, looking straight out to sea
In my perfect world I am the sun, reborn each day
Gardens carpeted with lush green lawn
Flowers throw colours to the fire in the sky
Swallows dip within inches of my face
Everything is golden in this clearest of days
A short distance ahead, over the steady rise of dunes
The gentle sway of the sea calms like a lullabye
Met on the horizon by the blue of the sky
Barely a whisp of white like the other days past
For these two weeks I am my different self
Sold is my spirit to the sound of the waves
Banished is another life, troubles safely stowed
No need to pick them up until I return
As the view before me transforms itself to dusk
My view of the world is rekindled and alive
There is hope, there is life, wishes and dreams
Decisions no more stressful than which shirt to wear
I look at my world, not so much to tell the time
More to will it to slow, too soon it is over
It is true, I am a chameleon to my surroundings
Here shining splendour, like a bird of paradise
At home, tucked away in the dark of a winter day
Like a hibernating bear, unaware of passing moments
Here simplicity wakes me excitedly, wafts sunglows to my room
The morning rush not traffic but the energy within
Sights and sounds in a distant land, a concerto in my head
Where horses tap a steady beat, pulling carriages gleaming white
At mignight roaming quieter stree, listening to cicada call
If this is not my tomorrow when I sleep, do not wake me at all

Brilliant poem reminded me of the view from my balcony out upon my world of dreams.
No pressure no stress.
Just a baccardi and coke and the sound of the sea.
At night in the hotel (they played the same music each night)
One ot the songs sticks in my mind seasons in the sun,
Thanks for taking me back there for a short time I was there on the balcony de-stressed in Turkey.
Love Sweetangelukxxxxx |

The imagery, scenery and feeling of relaxation found in this poem is priceless.
Wouldn't be awesome if when we needed that view from a window our heart could transport us there if only in our dreams?
I like to think so...
Great work.
