The Memory of Death

Contributed by forever_lonely on Friday, 30th July 2004 @ 07:34:16 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Deep within the catacombs of stolen lifes lament
A fortitude of deaths regret upon one shall repent
Between the subtle natured ways and forcing from ones years
The reaper calls our deepest sins in shards of crystal tears

Broken into numbers lost, reflective of ones plight
A tear to call a priceless time, a memory of sight
Each shard a dream of shattered will, forgotten for ones right
When silent thoughts of memories lost, disperse within a bite

As open tears of contrite dreams emerge from Hades realm
Where rivers true of crimson blood consume and overwhelm
This quandary of immortal thought, an extrication of my mind
Bestow upon my shattered soul, a life and death combined

This image of eternal rest, though mirrors made of lies
A silhouette of final thought, from which we all arise
Fragments of our tears remain, as shattered crystal cries
Watching as the memory of my death now dies

In the last stanza that should be 'through' not 'though' i did put through as i checked it multiple times but i guess that ruins the whole thing

Luke, you can go PM Mick if the typo bothers you that much. Personally, I didn't notice it that much, as the entireity of this one overwhelmed any innocent typographical error. I mean -

"As open tears of contrite dreams emerge from Hades realm "

Excellently written and rhymed. As usual.

Wow.

I agree with Neptune... this entire piece is so well contructed, so wonderfully rhymed.... It is though, what's behind it that blows me away. This is the work of a poet AND a philosopher. Incredibly well done! I am seriously impressed.

Hoping for more of your work,
SNM
