Angel On My Shoulder

There is an angel on my shoulder,
Watching me as I grow older,
Guiding me just like a light,
Protecting me throughout the night.
Making sure I come to no harm,
My angel is my luckiest charm,
She holds me ever so close,
Chasing away all my ghosts.
I can not see her, but I know she’s there,
She sits & plays with my long, blonde hair,
I hear her singing sweet lullabies,
They can be heard way into the skies.
I imagine her skin to be like a peach,
Her face to be as beautiful as the beach,
Long, golden flowing hair,
Two little blue eyes that silently stare.
Year after year she just quietly sits,
On my shoulder she is a perfect fit,
Watching, guiding & protecting,
Never forgetting or neglecting.
I’m sure I caught sight of her in my mirror,
Not really a look ,more like a glimmer,
Everywhere I go she willingly follows,
With my angel around I’ll never feel hollow.

How beautiful this is. I believe we are surrounded by angels through our entire life. Unless we purposefully put ourselves in the way of harm they are our buffer against intentional harm. This is such a peaceful piece of work.
