They do not see me; how could they?
I cannot even find myself.
You can't save me,
I tripped and stumbled long ago.
As I fall headfirst off the shelf
A strangers taken up residence in my head,
blood red lips it laughs and taunts.
I cannot tell it to go away because it's me
So I curl up in the corner
And let it have what it wants.
Maybe in a dozen years or so,
I'll wake
Sleeping Beauty/Ugly
I'll dance away
And try find the me that I let someone else take.
Knock Knock
Who's there?
I am
I open the door and lose myself to me.

finding ourselves is a great rite of passage that we can all celebrate. I like this one. |
