A Friend

Contributed by pyrofungus on Thursday, 29th July 2004 @ 10:44:02 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

A face that has shed so many tears
The one with the eyes that seem so innocent
Like a child at heart
So sensitive
But blind
So many things that we have done
Experimented
And learned over time
So many things that we will never do again
It’s all for the better
We know that so we agree
So many broken hearts that you have had
Left half mended
Still missing and hurting inside
Trying to hide your feelings
So you lie and say it’s fine
But I can see right through you
I know your sad
And I want to protect you
Shield you from what’s wrong
But drain your blindness from your soul
Make you see clearly
Wash that mascara from your watery eyes
Smile
And watch you giggle
Know that everything’s alright
And that we will never loose each other
I will always be your best friend
The one that you will never loose
The one that will try to protect you
And you will try to protect me
We have gone through a lot together
Been there for everything
Good or bad
We will be friends
Friends till the end
End of our time
Which is our death

Too many things together.
Gets a little confusing as you read it, I would suggest you make it the poem simpler.

Also, I think you should keep out the last line: 'which is our death'.
It should just end with
'Friends till the end,
End of our time.'

Keep writing...

i wish i had a friend like that..
your poem is very true to what it speaks, freinds do have thier ups and downs, and to be able to be there for some one, and have them there for you too just makes life a whole lot better
loved this, its very truthfull
keep it up!

This is real F****** Touching. If everyone had a friend like you everyone would be happy. It feels good to grow up or at least knowing you will always have a friend there even if it miles and miles away. Ive been best friends with this guy chris for 12 years and ive moved everywhere basically in cali and we are still best friends. This poem makes me think of him. I have to disagry with whoever said this was confusing to read. I Thought it was easy to read and real good.

hey, first of all- this is a wonderful write, anyone can see the respect you have for your friendship, that's a great thing to hold on to. i had a friend that i felt the same way about, like i would go to the end of the world to protect her. but it turned out she only needed protecting from herself, and i couldnt help her. i hope your friendship stays happy forever.
ps...no matter what, there will always be another friend out there, i found a friend who was there all along, but now she is the closest person to me, so if they "never cared" (i read your other one, too) someone else will!
~Calista *thanks for the comments!
