I've known you all my life,
yet you are like a stranger.
I've heard stories about you,
yet you are like a stranger.
I've talked to you before,
yet you are like a srtanger.
I've kissed you before,
yet you are like a stranger.
I've lived with you for fourteen years,
yet you are like a stranger.
I love you,
yet you are like a stranger.
You are my mom,
yet you are like a stranger.

A bit repetitive but nonetheless a good poem. You feel that way now but with maturity your feelings will change. My mother has become my very dearest friend. No one can replace a mother.

Family's weird like that. Such a dichotomy of feelings. Forty-five years later and I've learned that what I don't know will exceed what I do know. (Parenting is hard, too, for what it's worth, when our daughters change and we have no clue what happened). |
