The Last Horizon Chronicle

Contributed by SpreadYourWings on Thursday, 29th July 2004 @ 01:24:53 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

And just when she thought all her feelings had died
He comes back to haunt her and let her know he's alive
She never wanted it this way, she'd end it if she could
But the little voice inside her head was too misunderstood
And so she cries and waits, for him to say a solemn word
That he had always loved her, and it was she he had always preferred
But now she's alone and desperate, waiting for the night
To soak up all her feelings so she doesn't have to fight
And even though it makes her worse, she still waits for her only one
And gives another sigh with the rise of a brand new sun
She wants to tell him how she feels, but her courage has been lost
And despite all that she's ever felt, her heart's the only cost
Even when the days go by, she still can't seem to forget
For the days grow old with music and feelings of regret
If only she could see his face, if only one more time
Maybe if he said hello, or gave some sort of sign
She would be better off, without an aching pain in her heart
If only he hadn't taken her most important part
She's crying, dying, and falling into pieces
But that will never stop, cause the feeling never deceases
The pictures are too hurtful, words of others hard to hear
And even though she's trying to make it, her mind is still not clear
All she wants is to forget him, and leave him in her past
Hoping there will be no more, hoping he will be the last
Not a day goes by she says, that she doesn't think of him
And even around such smiling faces, her own grows far too grim
Even though she knows things won't be the way she wish they were
His face appears in her memory, wishing he was hers
Now she's left with a feeling she never knew could possibly exist
Never realizing how much she loved him, or just how much he would be missed
All she wants right now is a decent night of sleep
But she's allowed the cuts to go too far, to let them go too deep
She only wants him in her arms forever and to hold him tight
And the thought keeps repeating in her mind, night after night
She knows it will never happen, but she refuses to give up
Even though her heart and soul have already had enough
She wants to tell him that she'd be there for him everytime
And be there when he needs someone to perfect his fragile design
She's waiting in the dark now, she wants to talk to him again
And tell him all the words that she wished she could've sent
Even though her feelings make her miserable and feel so out of place
She's waiting just to see him, to be with him one day

This is a beautiful write. People tell you you're sick to hold on that long, I know. Yet there's more people out there holding on to lost loved ones than can ever be known. I should say I did have that 'one last day' after invisibly holding on for decades. It finished it, for me, because it made me realize what a liar he was.
