Mom & Dad

mom and dad are yellin again
and i think there marriage is gonna end
they started yellin at each other
right in front of me and my brother
then my sister came in
wonderin what happened
i told her to go watch tv
she turned around and i watched her leave
i that as my exit too
so i grabbed my brother and my shoes
me and my brother both sat on the couch
he started cryin when he heard more shouts
i thought to myself
i've got to get out
but i looked at my sister and brother
and saw how much they needed their big sister
so i hugged my broher really tight
and told him everything was gonna be alright
mom came in with a mean look on her face
and looked at us and started to pace
she stopped right in the middle of her walk
and looked at me and started to talk
"I'm tired of livign like this
it's him I'm not going to miss
"I'm sorry kids
I'm divorcing him."
she walked away
like everything was okay
my brothers eyes started to swell
and all i wanted to do was yell
yell at her
for being so obscur
my brother walked up to his room
i wanted to follow but i couldn't move
i started to cry
while i asked myself why
why do my brother and sister
have to live the rest of thier lives without a father
I'm scared to death
but not for my own breath
I'm scared for my brother
I'm scared for my sister
I'm scared for my mother
I'm scared, because life is no fairytale

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
