I sat and looked around
the world was black-
black and white
but in my mind
the memories played
like a winning film
the memories,
the past,
are vivid and alive
dancing
and singing
through my mind
warm summer nights
and cold pools
are so much better
than warm bodies
and cold desks-
my reality
The silhouettes
move with splendor
like I’ve never seen
silhouettes of lovers
who now are strangers
long gone
Oh how I wish
to go back to those times
the warm hearts
with cold hands
shivering in the wind
was somehow a magical scene
the memories,
the past,
are vivid and alive
dancing
and singing
through my mind
but I know
those times are gone
I can miss them
and I can kiss them
but only in my mind
for now I must live
but never let them die

Talented? no. Words are heart felt emotion. Basic human emotion isn't talent, the brain plays little part. But hey what would I know? Nice write :) |

Lovely piece of work. Yes, memories sometimes are all we have to sustain us. Vivid loving memories of those we loved and are now gone physically from our lives. The love still remains and so does the need for their personal warmth of spirit.
