Grief
|
I remember the day,
You left mommy and me.
Mommy said you would pay,
You would support me.
I felt like crying,
A tear coming my way.
I was trying,
Trying not to remember that day.
Now I am older,
I haven't seen you in years.
I am getting colder,
As I start to fear.
We are getting closer to you,
Closer as I start to get scared.
I thought you knew,
How very much I cared.
You still didn't call,
You thought I would.
I started to bawl,
As you stood.
We hugged and we cried,
You said to sit down.
And that you tried,
To come around.
As we're sitting here,
And I watch you drink.
I feel another tear,
Sliding to the brink.
I think you might,
Be nearing death.
This just isn't right,
As I hear your last breath.
I am at your side,
Wishing I was dead too.
So I could run up to heaven with pride,
Knowing I will be there with you.

Oh I just want to give you a hug.
This broke my heart. You really put your feelings into this one and it is VERY moving.
