Right Before Our Eyes

Topic: ChristianPoetry

My firmament and my foundation,
The rock which is all souls entwined
The ambient force that binds us all
The rock which is all life
The beauty of this force we see
Right before our eyes we live--
--A lie that sounds sweet to the ear
But bitter to the one who is
The creator of all time

In my shame I cannot denie
What lies right before my eyes
The fire that blinds even those--
--who cannot see
I stand before the truthood of what is--
--what was and what will be
With golden thread we each were made
A promise kept, a promise bade
In the blink of a darkened eye
We chose to believe what is not--
--and what will never be

We are forsaken by the truth
We are lies unexposed to light
We are darkened lamps that need a source
A source long gone away--
--on wings of a dove
How can we carry on,
Knowing that the truth has gone?
How can we ever change
Without a lamp to light the way
How can we see through darkness?
How can we walk a path we cannot find?
We were created by the truth,
We were twisted by a lie,
We are souls dangling on a string
We have fallen and abided in--
--the darkness of what never was
And never will be.

The lord is not far away
Call on him
And he will make you whole again.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
