Trashy To Classy

Contributed by pixie on Wednesday, 28th July 2004 @ 11:30:43 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

I used to think sex was just a game,
Didn’t care about my bad name,
I was young, free & single,
Free to be promiscuous & mingle.

So many men, so little time,
They didn’t even have to wine & dine,
I gave it away on a silver plate,
I always had sex on a first date.

One night stands & empty sex,
Are what caused me to get undressed,
Love was something I never knew,
So raw lust I choose to pursue.

I had no self respect or worth,
I was laying on my back in the dirt,
Ready & waiting for my next lay,
I’d sleep with anyone come what may.

But then I found a wonderful love,
He spread the wings of my dove,
Inside I felt like never before,
Gone were my feelings of a cheap whore.

What I have now is far from empty,
I have love in abundance & in plenty,
Sex becomes love when it has emotion,
Passion, tenderness & devotion.

My self respect has increased,
The self loathing is beginning to decrease,
I am learning not to think of myself as nasty,
I have made the switch from Trashy to Classy.

Clap-Clap, good for you. What a journey one has had eh,lol. Well sometimes we have to experience the worst to appreciate the best things in life. The poem is very well versed & is excellently put together. It's a good write & may well make a lot of young or indeed promiscuous people think twice before they lay down.
ps great name for the poem, over all (good job) as usual
Corinna
