As the night birds sing

Contributed by nexxa on Wednesday, 28th July 2004 @ 03:33:41 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

As the night birds sing, heralding the darkness coming,
I lay myself down in your protective arms.
I am instantly engulfed in the security your very soul radiates.
Our bodies intimately entwine of their own free will.
As we firmly embrace, we look to the blood red sky,
The sun shoots its flames mercilessly upon the unprotected earth.
The land becomes abound with flames, as the heavens release a torrent of violent storms.
A fiery hale pounds relentlessly over our heads, and the earth tears herself asunder.
We were forced to surrender….
We hold each other tenderly while the earth burns to cinder.
Looking longingly into each other’s eyes the sky becomes paralyzed.
With one last loving kiss everything ceases to exist.

Poetic masterpiece. I love the line "Looking longingly into each other's eyes the sky becomes paralyzed." A perfectly written love poem.

very well written but i could never come up with something like that in my mind. that really takes talent, which i don't have in that respect. i can write love poems in rhyme but what you write is much more difficult xx
