If God would let me talk to you today, there would be a lot I would like to say. I think we'd talk of happy times when you were growing up. I'd tell you just how proud I am that I could be your mom. How when the Dr. said "you have a boy" my heart was filled with pride. Jet black hair, big brown eyes, I held you to my breast and cried. We'd talk, I think or your childhood days and all the fun we had. Of puppies, ponies and Tonka trucks, some of your favorite things of all. The strays you brought home on a string, with laughter I recall. How holiday cookies you all would bake, Lord I member your first "flat" cake. You learned to play the trumpet in school, I wasn't sure I'd survive it! The notes soon came in smooth refrain oh my how I enjoyed it!, To listen to the marching band, and then the jazz you chose to play, I hear the sounds in my mind today. And then my son I think , I'd tell you of your little boy. He's grown so tall and handsome. He's grandmas' pride and joy. His jet black hair and big brown eyes, he looks just like his dad. He has a tender heart also just like his daddy had.We keep your memory alive by telling him of you. We hope some day he'll understand, We know he loved you too. Then I'd ask God just one more thing, If He would grant me this. The chance to give you one more hug and one more birthday kiss.

What a beautiful heartfelt tribute to your beloved son. You are right. A scar may form but it never totally heals. That is the most devastating loss possible to a mother.

Blessing be with you,
Rita

It may sound odd, but I think he heard all of what you said. Sometimes a mothers words go right to the ear no matter where they may be. Your words were bound for heaven and arrived safely. I pray your sorrow mends as he hugs you for this beautiful tribute.
Angel always...joni

Marilyn Bless your heart!!! May our loving heavenly Father take you in his arms and hold you tight! Remember he did not bring us death.....it was Satan the Devil brought all negativity into to this Universe, it was God that created us to live forever.....and don't forget he is going to let us do that again in the very near future!
Your write tore my heart from chest and left it in my throat throbbing for such sadness. I admire your courage Marilyn, and want to thank you for sharing this very sad poem with us!!!
