SUN'S LIGHT SHADOWS

"SUN'S LIGHT SHADOWS"

Lingering twilight, at eventide.....
Explosive blasts--fireplace ring side.
Igniting light shadows of clouds,
Singeing surface waters--watchful ship crowds!

Sun's etching pencil sketches lone Chapel.....
Light's rays cast shadows of image angle.
Near by mountain painted with fiery torches.
Chapel eyes watch, fearing demolished ashes.

Pure gold paint covers hard cold steel.....
Echoes of happy children's joy and laughter aver.
Placing value on the Ferris Wheel Ride.
Brilliant treasure, masterpiece of a Joyride!

A city prepares to sleep, fires extinquished......
Bright embers and hot coals cool, 'tis finished.
Strings of lights replace the hot canvas scene.
Tranquility settles in with quietude most serene.

Rewards for enduring heat at day's close.....
Bouquets of pink roses painted beauty bestows.
Cooling palms sway their "good-byes" with a breeze.
Sun's easel tucked at earth's edge with ease.

Sun's light casts shadows behind lonely hills.....
Enticing suspension bridges, man's magnificent skills.
Colored waters glow in the nearby harbor,
Encouraging small boat owners to worship at Fisherman's Altar.

Dark paintings of the sun's missing light of morass......
Street lamps stand guard relighting dark crevasse.
Mourning for missing colors in the radiant rainbows
Highlights with blacks and grays, slight day-glows.

Tall, stationary steeple's audience watches carefully......
Light shadows appear behind silver lining clouds beauty
Motionless, stands in awe observing sun's creativity.
Silvers, bronze, gold, copper, lead, changing calmly.

Sun's artistry, painting sunsets for trillions of a year.....
Professional, leaving each stroke perfectly clear.
Same audience gazes as it finishes it's final touch endear.
All the suns, moons, stars and angels applaud with a joyful cheer!
"Well Done!"

"After a day of cloud and wind and rain.
Sometimes the setting sun breaks out again.
And touches all the darksome woods with light.
Smiles on the fields until they laugh and sing.
Then like a ruby from the horizon's ring.
Drops down into the night
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow~

Stunning graphics. Beautiful write, Connie. The only thing that could make it better is to see God's face smiling down on us.

Such wonderful pictures and more wonderful imagery to describe one of God's wonders upon this earth. As always a beautiful work by a skillful poetess. Some words from the late John Denver would perhaps be appropriate...' sunshine on my shoulders make me happy.....sunshine in my eyes can make me cry.......' ha ha ha oh well...
